Lincolnshire Branch

The Lincolnshire Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association has the sole aim of serving all those people in the area affected by Motor Neurone Disease (MND). This includes people with MND, their carers, family and friends.

We also liaise with health and social care professionals such as speech therapists, occupational therapists and the medical profession.

Our Branch holds regular Branch and support meetings in Lincoln and Boston for people living with MND, their carers and families. We have a  newsletter which is distributed quarterly to all our members.

Fundraising and raising awareness are also very important aspects of Branch activities, and we are organising several events throughout the year.

The Lincolnshire Branch is completely run by volunteers. We are always interested in hearing from people who can help with the events or who would like to help us.

For more information about the work of the Association, and up to date information regarding the disease, care and research, please visit the National Office website at:

Matt writes: “In September I'm cycling 2,000km through France along a route that will cover 100 mountain passes in 10 days.  It's a major personal challenge, but I will also be raising money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

The event takes place in September 2010 with just 30 select riders taking part. Starting from the shores of Lake Annecy and travelling to the heart of the high Alps, it includes a tough mix of classic and lesser known but equally testing climbs. The route travels south to the Cote d’Azur before heading back up through Provence and the Chartreuse region.

If you'd like to sponsor me it will give me tons of motivation to complete the challenge and achieve the schedule of 200km and 4,000m of mountain climbing per day”

Sponsor Matt Cowan on the
Alpine Challenge!

Matt Cowan, son of Jan Cowan, one of our Lincolnshire Branch members,  is a keen cyclist and in September he is cycling 2000kms through France on a route that will cover 100 mountain passes in 10 days!  He will be raising funds for MND in memory of his grandmother who died of the disease.

Matt’s target is to raise £1500 in sponsorship so please visit his sponsorship page by clicking the link below
